Master’s Mix Substrate
 Power Booster Installed
We created this substrate to grow insanely huge and super healthy mushroom. We use only clean and renewable maple trees, farm fresh soy hulls or wheat bran and turn it into a mushroom substrate that accelerates your harvest. As an added bonus, our pellet production process generates enough heat to kill off most organisms however, we still recommend that you follow proper sterilization protocols. During pelletization the mill presses the maple and soy hulls through small holes. The high pressure from the mill generates enough heat to kill off quite a few competing organisms. But for best results, sterilization is key to a successful harvest and it will help to consistently produce the most healthy and deliciously huge mushrooms every time.
When grown using our Master’s Mix substrate, the biological efficiency rating for most oyster mushroom strains is normally over 100%. The biological efficiency for mushrooms, referred to as the BE, is the relative ability of the substrate to meet adequately the metabolic need of the mushrooms. The BE is a simple calculation that indicates the efficiency of the substrate by taking the total weight of all mushrooms harvested over multiple flushes divided by the dry weigh of the used substrate. To find your biological efficiency use the following equation: BE = (Total Weight of Mushrooms / Weight of Dried Substrate Used) x 100. For example: To reach 125% biological efficiency = (1.25kg total mushroom weight / 1kg dried substrate used) x 100. The Maple & Soy Hull substrate will bring your biological efficiency rating over the 100% mark and elevate your yields to epic proportions.
So what is in Master’s Mix substrate and where does it come from? Glad you asked! All of our maple trees are responsibly sourced through agency approved forestry projects and supplied by our partners in the forestry industry. The soy hulls and wheat bran used to create our substrate come straight off the combine harvesters from select farms in the Great Lakes region of Ontario. Producing the perfect environment for mushrooms to thrive while providing the most nutrition is possible and the results are real. This secret weapon of the specialty mushroom cultivation community is now available to everyone.
